It has been another busy week in Foxes class this week.
Within Maths this week Year 4 have completed their length and perimeter topic and started our new unit, focusing on multiplication and division. So far, we have learnt how to multiply by 10 and 100 using a variety of methods as well as beginning to look at dividing by these numbers!
In Year 5, children have continued to focus on multiplication and division, looking at prime numbers, square numbers and even cubed numbers!
English this week has involved children writing their own non-chronological report about a planet of their choice. We have been so impressed with all of the children’s work, they have taken all of the advice they have been given on board and used it to edit and improve to a very high standard. Their finished booklets have blown all of us away, well done Foxes!
We began this week wearing odd socks to highlight the importance of celebrating our differences, accepting everyone for who they are and being kind and caring. The children all now have Secret Angels within the class to carry on with the theme of being kind and caring to others.
In our music session, the children were introduced to the flute for the first time. The change in sound from the beginning of the session to the end was really impressive. We certainly have some potential flautists in Foxes class! We all look forward to getting the flutes out again on Tuesday.
The Spellings this week are:
Year 4: Adding ‘ly’ to adjective – usually, finally, beautifully, thoughtfully, wonderfully, carefully, faithfully, peacefully, cruelly, generally.
Year 5: Words ending in ‘-able’ and ‘-ible’ – dependable, comfortable, understandable, reasonable, enjoyable, reliable, possible, horrible, terrible, incredible.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Webb and the Foxes team!
