We have had a brilliant week in Owl Class.
In maths, we have continued with our topic of 'money'. We have been comparing amounts of money using the 'greater than', 'less than' and 'equal to' symbols ( > < =). We have been selecting different money to find the same amount, and we have been calculating money to find total amounts using our number bond knowledge and the column addition method. Can you think of two (or more) different ways to make £5? Next week, we will be finding change from amounts and solving two-step problems.
In English, we have innovated our story of 'Eliot the Midnight Superhero'. We decided as a class to change the 'build up' section. Can you tell someone at home what we changed it to? During our SPAG lessons this week, we have been looking at the past and present tense. Explain to someone at home what the mistake is in these sentences:
Sam is looked at the lions as they eat their food.
Tom riding his bike to school yesterday.
The children had their first audience on Friday afternoon and they all did a brilliant job! We are so proud of you all. A huge thank you to those parents who volunteered to walk with us to and from the Repton 400 Hall, it is greatly appreciated. The children have worked so hard over the last couple of weeks and we can't wait for you to see it!
Have a lovely weekend!
