We have had a fantastic week in Owls Class!
In English, we have started to learn the story of Supertato! We have created our own story maps and have learnt the story through following actions. We have been remembering to use our capital letters and full stops in our writing. Next week we will be looking at including noun phrases and adverbs in our writing to make it even better!
In Maths, we have been learning to partition numbers into tens and ones using a part-whole model. We can recognise that two-digit numbers are made up of tens and ones. For example, 23 is made up of 20 and 3! We have also been representing our numbers in a place value grid. We know how many tens and ones make up a number. For example, 23 is made up of 2 tens and 3 ones. We have all worked really hard!
In Topic, we have been testing materials suitable for Ice Man! We needed to find the best material to keep ice frozen for the longest. We made some great predictions and conducted a fair and accurate test. We found out that tinfoil was the best material for keeping the ice frozen for the longest!
It was great to see you some of you this week at the Meet the Teacher evening. Please find the PowerPoint presentation on the Owl Class homepage. Please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mrs Baxter if you have any further questions.
Have a great weekend!
