Although it has been a very short week we still seem to have managed to pack lots in. It has involved adventurous innovating, adding and subtracting of capacity and volume and some super Cricket skills. Read on to find out more…
Within Maths this week we have finished our unit learning about Measuring Mass, Capacity and Volume. We looked at adding and subtracting volumes and capacity and carried out lots of Problem Solving questions. Can you explain this True or False question to your grown up?
In English we have begun Innovating our Adventure Stories. The children looked at our Model text and thought about how they could change the setting as well as the adventure that our main character undertakes. Some brilliant description was used for our new setting which included a cold, freezing castle. Some super writing is definitely going to be happening next week.
We have carried on with our Forces and Magnets Science topic this week by not only thinking about magnetic poles but also about what materials are magnetic. The children carried out an investigation where they predicted if materials were magnetic or not. They were surprised that not all metals are actually magnetic.
We got a brilliant opportunity this week in the form of a Kwik Cricket training session. The children practiced their batting, bowling and fielding with some brilliant activities, some of which can be seen below.
We finished off our week with a wonderful Coronation picnic and the super Colour Run. A huge thanks to the PTA for organising this wonderful event. Have a look at some of the fun we had on this lovely day below.
I hope you all enjoy the Coronation this weekend and have a lovely extended Bank Holiday weekend!
Stay safe
