WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/c 13/03/23

Well, what a quick yet busy week it has been.  It has involved Bridge Blunders, Planting Pants and a wonderful performance of Beauty and the Beast. Read on to find out more…

This week is British Science week and the theme was ‘Making Connections’.  We focused on building bridges and planting pants.

Bridge Blunders involved us thinking about how we can make a bridge more stable and strong.  We started by creating a bridge and thinking about how we could make it stronger and more able to hold bigger weights.  The children thought about what shapes were strong and supportive and used this knowledge to make their bridges better.  Have a look at the pictures of our bridges below.

The second half of Science week involved us Planting Pants.  This investigation focused on what organisms and bacteria in soil can do to a natural material.  We began by analysing the soil in two different locations.  We thought about its texture, what was in it and what it sounded like, we also thought about what the type of soil was.  We then planted our pants, we will check what has happened to them in 8 weeks.  Have a look at the pictures of our two locations below.

We were incredibly lucky to get to witness Repton School’s Drama Societies production of Beauty and the Beast.  We were all so impressed with the production and thoroughly enjoyed our experience, even the ice creams and drinks at the interval.  The children got so many positive comments about their behaviour and they made me very proud.  Well done Puffins and thank you.

Thank you for your support this week.  As usual our Spelling test will be on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend,

Stay safe
