A super (and very warm!) week in the Owls Class!
In maths, we have started our new unit of work: Time! So far, we have been learning to read the time 'o'clock', 'half past', 'quarter past' and 'quarter to'. We have been working hard with our mini clocks and have been busy reading and drawing the time! Show someone at home what you can do:
Keep practising at home with your clocks at home!
In English, we have been planning to write our own persuasive adverts. First, we designed our very own adventure park. What did yours have in it? Then, we innovated the model text by changing the introduction using our own adventure parks. We thought about including (rhetorical) questions, persuasive language and powerful adjectives. Can you remember what your question was? Finally, we boxed up our own ideas ready for our hot writes on Monday! We cannot wait to read these!
In science, we have planted our own cress seeds. We have put the seeds into 4 different conditions:
We made predictions on which one we thought would grow the best and why. What did you choose? We will be checking the progress over the next week or so!
We have also been looking at the life cycle of a plant. Tell someone at home what a 'life cycle' is. Can you explain each part of the life cycle to someone? Use the word bank below to help you...
On Tuesday, we had a wonderful visit to the Mitre Drive Playing Feild, where were searched for different wildflowers. Can you tell someone at home what flowers we saw? We then went on a nature hunt for different natural materials to create our own piece of artwork. What did you find? Take a look at the pictures below...
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
