We have had a lovely week in the Owls Class.
In maths, we have been using our measurement knowledge to order lengths and solves mathematical problems! Can you show someone at home what you can do?
In English, we are having been busy boxing up our model text (the newspaper report about the Gruffalo) and finding key features (past tense verbs, similes and adjectives). We have been learning about past tense verbs and similes this week in preparation for writing our own newspaper report next week! Can you tell someone at home what we will be writing a report about next week?
This week has been 'Science Week'. We have been learning about the different roles science has in society and explored some famous scientists that have contributed to things we understand and use today. On Monday, we explored the role of a botanist (looking closely at Jane Colden). On Tuesday, we explored Louis Pasteur’s life and work and learnt why it is important that we wash our hands. On Wednesday, we explored Charles Macintosh’s famous invention and investigated the most suitable materials for a raincoat. On Thursday, we explored the invention of wind turbines. Can you tell someone something your learnt?
