W/c 17th October 2022

Well, what a lovely final week of the first half term it has been.  I am so proud of the Puffins, they have settled into Year 3 so well, they have stepped up to the challenges of Key Stage 2 and worked ever so hard.  You all deserve a lovely half term’s rest!

In English this week we have written our Non-Chronological Reports.  The children created some brilliant plans with lots of super information about new toys.  They worked very hard to edit and improve their reports too.  Share one of the facts you found with your grown-up!  What surprising modern toy used to be made out of wood?  Super work Puffins, well done.

Maths involved us carrying on with our work on addition and subtraction.  This week we tackled the slightly tricky concept of adding across the 10.  Although this was slightly tricky for us at first the work the children put into understanding it was very good.  Can you explain this True or False question to one of your grown-ups? Remember to think about the place value columns to help you.

We learnt more about muscles in our Science topic ‘Animals Including Humans’.  This week we created our own bicep and tricep model.  We thought about what muscle movements are voluntary and involuntary and what happens to our muscles when we move our arms.  Some super vocabulary was used.

Thank you for working so hard this half term Puffins, I hope you all have a lovely week off and come back well rested for a half term that will contain Roman jobs and childhood, multiplication and division, even more singing and Christmas!!

Stay safe and be kind to each other
