Another brilliant week in Owl's Class!
In maths, we have been recapping our addition and subtraction knowledge. The children have worked really hard, using all of their methods to work out a range of addition and subtraction sums. Next week we will be beginning our new unit,'money'. We will be revisiting subtraction and addition regularly over the year. Please encourage your children continue to practise their addition and subtraction sums and their number bonds to 10, 100 and 20.
In English, we have planned and written our own non-chronological reports about our own 'super' pet. The children have worked extremely hard to incorporate all of the punctuation and grammar elements that we have been learning. I am really proud of each of them!
On our class page I have created a folder named 'SPAG'. Within this I have attached posters explaining each SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) element that we have been, and will be, learning about. Please read these with your children and ask them questions about them. They are doing amazingly well at including these elements within their writing.
In topic, we have continued our research on Florence Nightingale. We have been making comparisons between Victorian hospitals and modern day hospitals. Can you tell someone at home the changes Florence Nightingale made?
The Christmas play rehearsals are going really well- the children sound fantastic!
It was fantastic to meet you all this week during the parent consultation evening. Thank you all for coming.
Have a brilliant weekend!
