WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/c 19th September 2022

Another fun-filled and jam-packed week in Puffins.  The children are really impressing me with how they are settling into Key Stage 2 and Year 3.  This week we have created mystical creatures, partitioned 1000’s and done lots more singing.

English this week has involved us creating our mythical creature that will be in the centre of our Myth.  We described this creature using some brilliant adjectives and descriptive sentences.  We then thought about the setting of our story, in this case a Colosseum.  We thought about what the Five senses would have experienced in a Colosseum in the Roman times.  This is going to help us with creating a realistic Myth when we begin to write next week.

Within Maths we have carried on looking at place value.  We have thought about how we can partition numbers into Hundreds, Tens and Ones and what each part of the number represents.

This week’s Topic lesson has involved us learning about the Romans and their beliefs.  We have learnt about the different God’s that the Roman’s believed in and how they worshipped them.  The children also learnt about what the Roman’s believed each God was in charge of and how they helped them in their daily life.  Can you tell one of your Grown ups about one of the Roman Gods we have learnt about, what present would you give to them to make them happy?

It was lovely to put some more names to faces at our Meet the Teacher Evening, I have uploaded the presentation for those of you who couldn’t make it.

As usual our spellings are in the spelling area on the class page, in the children’s homework diaries and on Spelling Shed.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Thank you

Stay safe
