Well done Owls for another week of hard work!
In maths, we have been using our knowledge of the 2, 5 and 10 times-tables to answer multiplication problems. Please continue to practise your times-tables weekly and use your arrays to help you work out multiplication sums. Can you draw an array to help you work out 6 x 8? We are now feeling pretty confident with multiplication and have now moved on to division! Can you show someone at home the multiplication symbol? We have been looking at making equal groups by sharing concrete materials and pictorial representations. We will continue to explore division next week, looking at dividing by 2, 5 and 10.
In English, we planned our own warning tales. The children have done a fantastic job at creating a gripping and imaginative warning tale. They have worked really hard to incorporate the SPAG techniques that we have been learning in class. Can you tell someone at home about your story?
In topic, we have continued to explore the Battle of Hastings. We have created a timeline to show the events that led up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Can you tell someone at home what a timeline is? Can you tell someone the sequence of events that led to the Battle of Hastings?
Please note, within 'SATs Information' on our class page, you can find past KS1 SATs papers from 2019. Please feel free to take a look at them to gain a picture of the types of questions the children will be answering.
Have a super weekend!
