We have had a busy week in Owls Class!
In Maths, we have been learning to count in groups of 2, 3, 5 and 10. We have done a great job at this! We have been problem solving working out sums of 3 more and 3 less. Can you tell someone at home what 3 less and 3 more than 15 is? We will continue to practise our times tables over the course of the year.
Our unit of 'Place Value' has come to an end this week. We will be starting our new unit, 'Addition and Subtraction', next week.
In English, we have wrote our very own 'super vegetable' stories! These have been fantastic. We made sure that our writing was presented beautifully, with cursive handwriting, capital letters and full stops. We have also included adjectives and adverbs (ending in 'ly') to make our stories exciting! Can you tell someone at home about your story? Who was you 'super vegetable' and who was your 'evil vegetable'?
In Topic, we have been busy painting and decorating our superhero cars! We will be attaching a balloon engine to them next week and testing how far they travel. We will then evaluate our designs. You have all done a fantastic job with these!
On Thursday, we spent the afternoon learning about Spain as part of the European Day of Languages. We learnt some Spanish phrases, listened to Spanish music, created a Spanish flag and made a piece of Picasso art. Can you remember the Spanish words for 'hello', 'goodbye', 'good morning' and 'good evening'?
We have had another brilliant week! Keep up the good work Owls!
