WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/c 24th June 2024

Well, what a lovely week of weather we have had! This week has involved MRS GREN, haiku poetry and obtuse angles.  Read on to find out more…

In English this week we have been learning about Haiku poetry.  We have learnt about its origins in Japan and how it normally is written about nature and the seasons. From this we created our own word bank all about summer and what it reminds us off.  We then created Haiku poems about Summer.

In Maths, Year 3 have been looking at how a turn is separated into different types of angles, the different types of angles there are and how you can compare angles. Can you explain this True or False question your grown-up?

Year 4 have also been looking at angles. They have identified the different types of angles there are as well as thought about the angles in triangles. Can you explain this True or False question about Triangles to a grown up?

We have also begun our new topic in Science ‘Living Things’.  We kicked this topic off by thinking about how living things are classified.  We looked at sorting animals into their different classifications of Mammals, Fish, Amphibians, Reptiles and Birds.  Did you know that one of the classifications of birds isn’t that they can fly?  Can you explain to your grown up the difference between a reptile and an amphibian?

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Stay safe

Mrs Karamucki
