What a rainy end to a lovely week. This week has involved more singing, Top Trumps and some boxing up! Read on to find out all about the Puffins jam packed week.
English this week has involved us continuing to plan our Myth set in the Roman times. We have boxed up the story of Romulus and Remus, thinking about which part of the story involves the problem and how everything is finally resolved with the birth of Rome. We have planned our own story in groups so that we can start writing next week. Some brilliant main characters and problems have been created. I can’t wait to read the stories next week!
In Maths we have continued focusing on Place Value. We have looked at using number lines and estimating where numbers to 1000 go on number lines of different intervals. We have also looked at comparing numbers to 1000 using greater than, less than and equal too.
Our Topic lessons this week have involved us learning about the Roman Gods in more detail. We learnt about what area each of the Gods was in charge off and any special abilities they had. We then made our very own Top Trumps cards for some of the Gods. The children’s scoring systems were very interesting, we can’t wait to play some Top Trumps next week.
In PSHE this week we focused on the nice things we can say to people to brighten their day and how people might feel if we go out of our way to notice them. We also thought about how negative words can impact people. We have some very kind and considerate Puffins.
This half term, Computing will involve E-Safety. This week we focused on who we should share important information with online.
As usual our Spellings for this week are both on Spelling Shed, in your child’s homework diary and in the Spelling area on the class page. Thank you.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Stay safe
