We have had a great first week back and the Hedgehogs have settled brilliantly. We have done lots of fun activities this week to get to know each other. Here are a few things that we have been doing this week.
Monday - We started off our week by getting to know each other and we were introduced to our class monster called 'Fairy'. We created some fabulous bookmarks for our reading books and we got to explore the activities inside the classroom.
Tuesday - Mrs Wain was with us today. We designed our own "All About Me" Hedgehogs. The children got to tell us their favourite animal, food, lesson and what they like to do the best! These Hedgehogs can be found underneath our class clock.
Wednesday - Mrs Ward was in our class teaching for the morning. Mrs Ward and the class designed some "Mini-Me" people to go in our bay. The children created some fantastic self portraits. Then in the afternoon, we listened to a bit of music and learnt a new song called "Clap the beat" which the children loved!
Thursday - We did a piece of writing where we wrote about what we did in the Summer Holidays. The writing blew me away! Then in the afternoon, we had a fun PE lesson where we played with the parachute and some ball pit balls. We played "PopCorn" and "Chase the ball".
Friday - We did some Maths games to get our Maths brains working. In the afternoon, we started our new unit in Topic. This term, we are learning all about the Ancient Egyptians! We read the book "Mr Men go to Egypt" and we drew pictures in our topic books of things we want to learn about from the book. The children were fascinated with the pyramids, the mummies, the pharaohs and the sphinx!
All children have been issued with a reading book. Please try to read 2-3 times a week to boost your child's reading knowledge. If you have any questions, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will commence a bit more normal learning next week. Please check the timetable to see the structure of the school day for next week.
Have a lovely, relaxing weekend!
