WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

W/c 7th November 2022

We have had another very busy week in Puffins class.  It has involved Plants and what they need to live, innovating and lots of column addition and subtraction.

In English this week we have thought about how we use inverted commas correctly as well as how we can use expanded noun phrases in our writing to add interest and detail for the reader.  We have also innovated our own version of the Catch.  Some of the innovations included a Bear helping to find pineapples.  A story I am very much looking forward to reading.

Maths has involved lots of formal addition and subtraction.  We have thought about exchanging and how it is even more important now that we set out our calculations carefully and in the correct column so we don’t get confused.

Our Topic this week saw us analysing sources, thinking about whether they helped us learn about the life of the Romans or not.  We learnt a lot about Roman pottery and we are excited to make our version of some coil pots next week.

We are all really looking forward to the Big Swim next week.  Thank you to those who have offered to walk down to the pool with us, if you can help but haven’t let me know it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.  If you are still to fill your child’s consent form in could you also please do that by Monday.  Thank you.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend

Stay safe
