We have all all enjoyed learning all about what we celebrate in autumn this week. We heard all about Guy Fawkes night and how we celebrate it. We enjoyed making firework pictures using cardboard tubes to print fireworks exploding in the sky, using bright coloured paint and glitter. They look fantastic!
We also learned about animals that hibernate in autumn. The children talked all about the different animals that hibernate, where they sleep and why. They also sorted animals that do and don't hibernate through winter. We all wrote in our writing books, something we knew about this.
In maths we focussed on the different ways that 1,2 and 3 are represented and dug deeper by looking at different ways to make 3, shapes with 3 sides and corners, sorting different representations of 3 ,2 and 1 in different ways and talking about more than and less than. We also looked at repeating patterns, recognsing them and continuing them. The children used natural objects to make patterns as well as on the smartboard programmes.
Have a lovely weekend!
