Welcome back! It's so lovely to have all the children back in school this week. All the children settled back in as though they had never been away. We were incredibly proud of how well they remembered all the routines without being told - just incredible. There is a buzz back in the room that has been missing for so long.
This week we began by talking about emotions with lots of PSHE games and discussions to settle the children back in. We talked about what emotions we felt and when we might feel them and how we can help ourselves and others to feel better when we feel sad or angry. We also continued our new topic 'People who help us' by looking at who helps us in an emergency. The children have enjoyed learning all about fire fighters and police officers; playing with the vehicles they use, painting and drawing them and writing about the things that they do and the equipment that they use.
In maths we have learned about making 9 and 10. The next 3 weeks will be consolidation of 6,7,8,9 and 10.
We hope you have all had a lovely week and I'm sure the children are ready for a rest after such a busy time! See you next week!
