We have really enjoyed the beginning of our topic about Minibeasts. This week we learned about frogs! We looked at how they grew from frogspawn into tadpoles and then froglets then frogs and about their life cycle. We read some information from books and the internet about frogs and wrote sentences to show what we had learned.
The children all made frogs and lily pads for our minibeast wall. It looks amazing and will be so full by the end of term.
In maths we learned about doubling and that to double means we add the same amount again. We blended this with a little symmetry which the children will apply next week when we make butterflies and their symmetrical wings. (Please see the forest school section for some beautiful symmetrical patterns in the forest).
Below are some pictures of our minibeasts in the classroom. We have eggs to hatch (thank you to Jacob's parents), tadpoles (thank you Laurie's parents) and caterpillars to see grow into butterflies! It's so exciting.
As the weather warms up, please send a sun hat to school everyday. Please apply sun cream at home in the morning as this is difficult for the children to manage in school. Many thanks and have a lovely weekend!
