We have had another busy week, learning all about Jack and the Beanstalk and growing.
The children retold the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and made a story map to help them retell the story in the correct order. They are beginning to use good story language, such as 'Once upon a time', 'then', 'next', 'the next morning' and 'they lived happily every after'.
We all planted a bean and put them on the window sill in a sunny spot and remembered to water them. We have started to notice that the beans that have been watered in our bean experiment from last week, have begun to sprout roots and the ones that have had no water haven't grown at all.
In maths we are continuing our learning on numbers to 20. The children are doing really well with their understanding that a teens number is ten and some more ones. Some are even able to see straight away that 10 and 4 more is 14, using concrete and pictorial representations.
We had a magical forest school session this week - please see that section for pictures.
We hope you enjoy the long weekend and will see you all on Tuesday!
