WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week 2

We've had a super first full time week this week!  The children are all very settled and starting to know the routines of the day.

This week we painted self-portraits for our 'Look at Us' wall display (see photo below).  Mrs Riley came to visit and could guess who everyone was so super painting Robins!

We also made krispy cakes and enjoyed taking turns to melt and stir the ingredients and then put our own into a cake case, decorated with Smarties.  We also made playdough, ready for our Dough Disco sessions!

We've practised using the balance bikes and how to wait our turn.  The children are good at asking 'please may I have a turn when you've finished?' and patiently waiting.  We also learned about Growth Mindset and that if we try hard at practising something we will exercise our brain until we can do it.  Instead of saying, 'I can't do it' we can say 'I can't do it YET!'

We also enjoyed playing lots of circle games this week, where we have become a little more confident at speaking in front of the class and listening to others too.  We also carefully listened to sounds and noises; identifying them and hearing rhymes and initial sound games to begin our transition into phonics sessions.

Well done on a great first full time week everyone and we hope you have a well earned restful weekend!
