We have had another great week in our Robins' class. We are always so busy, it's hard to know where to start!
This week, as part of our topic on "Fairy tale World" we have been learning about the story of the 3 little pigs. The children have really enjoyed joining in with telling the story. We have "imitated" the story as whole class, which means we drew pictures to help us to tell the story, Each group then worked together to create a story map to tell the story. They were all great. The children have also engaged in various activities set up around the classroom connected to the story.
In maths we have been learning the story of 5. We have looked at 5 in different forms and we have made 5 in different ways using cubes e.g. 4 and 1, 3 and 2, 5 and 0 etc. We have also counted to and used larger numbers throughout the week.
It was my first time in Forest Schools this week (Mrs Riley). I loved working with the children in this environment and I was so impressed with how they worked together so sensibly.
As some of you may know, Mrs Tarrant is poorly at the moment (not covid related) and will not be in school for the next few weeks. The rest of the team are still working with the children and we are very happy to welcome Mrs Roberts to our team for the next few weeks, to cover Mrs Tarrant on Thursday and Friday. We send Mrs Tarrant our very best wishes and we wish her a speedy recovery.
Next week, the story we will focus on is Goldilocks and the 3 bears, so we are very much looking forward to that.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and we look forward to seeing you all again on Monday.
