This week we have learned a lot about 3D shapes - naming them, talking about their properties, such as whether they can roll or slide and edges and faces. The children have done really well at remembering some of the names.
In English we have worked together as a group to make a story map of The Three Little Pigs - our book of the week. Everyone had a go at writing labels to match the pictures they had drawn; beginning to hear sounds in the middle and end of words and forming the letters.
The children have loved using the materials (sticks, straw and bricks) to build homes for the pigs. We discussed which material was the best to use and why and then investigated this practically. We had some fantastic houses!
We have started to run through our Nativity play. All the children have done really well saying their lines and singing the songs. If you can please continue to practise their words at home this would be great. Many thanks for the costumes that have already been sent into school. If you could make sure they are all in by 2 November please, we can begin to practise with them.
Thank you to all that attended parent's evening. It was great to talk to you all about your child's progress.
Have a lovely weekend!
