WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week 4

This week we have learned about what we can grow to eat.  We planted salad seeds - lettuce, cucumber, radish and tomatoes.  The children watered the seeds and put them in the greenhouse.  We have remembered to water them each day.

Our been plants are growing lots!  Some are really tall!  Our sunflowers are also sprouting.

In English we read the story of 'The Enormous Turnip' and ordered the story as well as making a story map of our own to remind us of the story.  We could then retell it ourselves.

In maths we learned to solve addition problems through stories.  We used a 10 frame to add counters together to match the story and did really well.

We also learned about clay and where it comes from; in the ground.  The children all made a clay pot by making a coil from the clay.  It was really messy but fun!

Next week we are learning about what we can find in our garden.  We also have a Sports Enrichment Day on Thursday 20th May, so the children will need to come into school in their PE kits again that day.  We will be taking part in Zorbing and Lazer Tag!

Have a lovely weekend!
