We've all enjoyed this week as we have learnt about 'The Gruffalo!' The children listened to the story and remembered lots about his features; describing him and then painting some fabulous pictures of him. They really do look fantastic up on the wall.
We met Mojo this week and learned about our brains. We know that we may not be able to do many things right now but if we keep trying our brains get stronger until we can do it. The children have learned to say "I can't do it....yet!" when they've asked for help at times such as peeling their bananas or putting on their coats.
Our outside area is developing well and the children are enjoying using the tyres to make race tracks and balance along. We are slowly re-surfacing the woodland area under the trees with new chippings and the children's mud kitchen is about ready to use! They have had fun using the wheelbarrows and spades to dig in the lower mud kitchen area this week.
Next week we will begin our Letter and Sounds lessons, so your children should be learning a new sound each day, beginning with 's,a,t,p' this week. As we learn them we will add them to the 'This Week's Sounds' section on this class webpage so you can follow up and support at home.
We would like to begin Forest Schools on Tuesday next week. If you have yet to send in your child's waterproofs, please do so on Monday. Everyone should already have their wellies in school, but if not, please send those too. Both waterproofs and wellies will stay in school.
Many thanks and have a lovely weekend!
