Week 6

This week we have been learning about how we’ve changed since we were a baby. The children have listened to the story ‘owl babies’ and talked about what babies need. They’ve written about what babies need and we all talked about what we can do now that we couldn’t do when we were little.

We made cute owl babies with play dough, feathers, buttons and paper beaks. We also collages our own owl babies at the art table.

In maths we started to become familiar with the Numicon. We counted the holes in the plates and ordered them from 1-10. We also tried to find the correct number card to match each piece.

Everyone has their first ‘reading book’ now. Please share with your child as much as possible. Please encourage them to talk about the story and what the characters might be feeling and saying. They may be able to use some story language already such as ‘One day, Biff and Chip were .....’ etc.  Do model this to them too and have fun making up the story!  We will change their book when we read with the children each week. Please leave in book bags daily. Thank you.
