We have reached the end of the first half term and we are so proud of how the children have settled into school. This week we have asked the question, 'How have i changed since I was a baby?' We all wrote a sentence about how we have changed. We read the story 'Owl Babies' and used different materials to collage a picture of an owl.
Our number of the week this week is 3 and we learned all about 3 - how to write it, count it, finding things in threes, subitising 3 (knowing there are 3 just by looking), triangles with 3 edges and 3 corners, etc. When we return we will be focussing on 1,2 and 3 and combining them, looking at different ways to make 3 and repeating patterns. This week we also explored all the different Numicon tiles, 1-10 and learned to recognise them from their individual shapes and colour as well as have a go at ordering them.
So far, we have learned the sounds s a t p i n m d c g o k ck It would really benefit the children to try to retain these sounds over the half term holiday. You can let them enjoy Phonics Play on a pc, tablet or phone, using the free games on the website - Buried Treasure, Picnic on Pluto and Dragon's Den. Once in the game, choose Phase 2, sets 1, 2 and 3.

Enjoy your week! We'll see you again on Monday 2nd November.
