WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week beginning 05.12.22

Our Learning

We have had a marvellous week in Seals class! It has involved punishments, leaflets and lots of festive fun!

English –

At the beginning of the week, children edited and published their Historical Narratives. Towards the end of the week they have been preparing for our next unit of work, which is persuasive leaflets. The children have read and analysed a range of leaflets and conducted research for their own writing. We will be planning and writing our persuasive leaflets next week!

Maths –

We have now moved on to the second part of our Multiplication and Division work. So far it has involved multiplying by 10, multiplying by 100 and dividing by 10. We have used a variety of methods to help us multiply and divide and even solved a tricky problem-solving question!

History –

This week, we have learned all about Tudor crime and their (very harsh) punishments! The children were giving a sorting activity where they had to match a crime to its punishment. They were then given the opportunity to act out some Tudor crimes and punishments (safely, of course!). Today, the children were given the option of creating a Tudor timeline or a Tudor A-Z. This task was an opportunity for the children to show off everything that they have learned this term about The Tudors!

Christmas fun –

We are well and truly into the Christmas spirit in Seals class! We have been working hard to perfect our Christmas song which we will be singing at the church and have enjoyed some Christmas crafts, including making decorations and creating bunting for our classroom! We look forward to having some more festive fun over the next couple of weeks!

Homework –

Children have been given some English homework this week which relates to the learning we have been doing in class. The task has been explained in class, but if you have any questions about this, please do get in touch. This piece of homework is due on Monday 12th December. Children should practice their spellings and times tables and read at home alongside this.
