WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week Beginning 14.09.20

Our Week

We have had another amazing week in Seals class and it has been a week full of fun and surprises! Seals class are settling back into school really well and have a brilliant understanding of the new rules and routines.

Learning

In English this week we looked at our brand new book, 'Lights on Cotton Rock', which we all loved! We made predictions, asked questions and focused on describing the main character. We have also been lucky enough to receive our whole class playscript book for Rain before Rainbows this week, made by the lovely Mrs Broad and written by our Super Seals!

Our Maths lessons this week have continued to look at number and place value, with a focus on number lines and rounding. On Wednesday we enjoyed a hands on Maths lesson where we created our own number lines using masking tape!

A special delivery

Seals class have been extremely lucky this week as we received a special package from a Seal Sanctuary! As you may have noticed, children are proudly wearing Seal pin badges on their uniform which were donated to us by the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. The parcel also contained a letter addressed to the class, a seal graduation certificate for the class, seal cadet badges for each child, activity booklets and our very own seal mascot!

We have chosen to call our mascot Sammy. Sammy will be joining in with our learning in school and will also enjoy some fun adventures over the weekend! Sammy's adventures will be posted onto the class page, so do check in to see what she has been getting up to!

Celebration Assembly

This week, we trialed our very first virtual celebration assembly in school which went extremely well and was super exciting for the children! It was delightful to come together again as a whole school and celebrate some superb learning and behaviour! Miss Bailey was incredibly proud to have given out two behaviour leaves and one star of the week certificate this week and would like to congratulate the children who received these once again, well done!

Have a lovely and relaxing weekend and we can't wait to see you all again on Monday!
