Our Learning
We have had another great week in Seals class. It has involved money, hot writes and making instruments!
English –
This week, we have been preparing for our next hot write. We have produced a double page spread of ideas, boxed up the model text and planned our own adventure story. We have now started to write our adventure story. Next week, we will be editing and publishing our final pieces of work!
Maths –
This week has been all about money! We have written money using decimals, converted between pounds and pence, compared amounts of money, ordered money and estimated with money. Next week we will be solving problems with money.
Science –
We have had so much fun this week designing and making our own junk musical instruments. During the planning phase, the children thought carefully about their research and survey responses, using these to inform their design choice. Each group considered the design brief and created an instrument that can produce sounds of varying pitches and volumes. The Seals have worked incredibly well together and have made some fantastically creative musical instruments that are fit for purpose!
Homework –
Children have been given a piece of English homework to complete which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. This piece of homework is due on Monday 22nd May 2023. Children have been asked to practice their spellings and times tables and read at home alongside this.
