We have reached the end of our first half term, and what a busy one it has been! We have been so pleased with how well the children have settled back into school.
This week we have finished our Newspaper Reports unit in English. All of the children have written their Newspaper articles and have really focused on trying to include all of the features that we have learnt about. Our writing wall is beginning to fill up and we can already see an improvement in the work that the children are creating.
Within Maths, Year 4 have carried on focusing on addition and subtraction. They have thought about how to work out the inverse of a calculation and made sure that we understand how to carefully identify all the steps to complete word problems.
Year 5 have focused on line graphs, understanding the features of them and answering questions about the data that they represent.
The Spellings this week are:
Year 4: Suffix ‘ation’ added to verbs – information, sensation, preparation, vibration, decoration, donation, duration, registration, population, determination.
Year 5: Words ending in ‘-ant’ – abundant, brilliant, constant, distant, dominant, elegant, fragrant, ignorant, tolerant, vacant.
We hope you all have a lovely half-term, take lots of time to relax and enjoy time together. Stay safe.
