Our Learning
I would like to start by saying how proud I am of all the Seals this week! They have all worked so hard in preparation for the MTC and were so calm and positive on Monday when we completed the official check in school – Well done Super Seals!
English –
This week we have been focusing on various aspects of spelling, punctuation and grammar. This has included editing sentences, using the correct homophones, using pronouns to avoid repetition, using direct speech accurately and demarcating sentences!
Maths –
This week, we have begun our Geometry unit of work. This has involved identifying turns and angles, comparing and ordering angles and recognising and describing 2D shapes! Today, we recapped factor pairs as this was something that a lot of children struggled with during our morning challenge last week.
Science –
This week, we have planned and conducted our own scientific enquiry. We have set up 3 cups of water in different locations to investigate whether temperature affects the rate of evaporation. We are monitoring the water levels and recording our results in our books each day. We will finish this experiment next week, where we will then create a line graph to present and analyse our findings.
Homework –
Children have been given some English homework today which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. The task has been explained in class, but if you have any questions about this, please do get in touch. This piece of homework is due on Friday 1st July. Children should practice their spellings and read at home alongside this.
