We have had a fantastic week in Seals class. It has involved apostrophes, artefacts and arrays!
This week, we have focused on numerous aspects of grammar including apostrophes for omission, apostrophes for possession by both singular and plural nouns, and demarcating sentences. Children have worked extremely hard to understand these concepts and are even noticing when these appear in their reading books or another lesson! Today, children tried their very best to persuade a partner to do something in preparation for our new unit of work, ‘Persuasive leaflets’ which we will begin next week.
We have continued our Multiplication and Division unit of work this week. This has involved answering multiplication and division questions which relate to the 7, 11 and 12 times tables.
This week, we continued to learn more about the Bronze Age. Children discovered how bronze was made and produced a piece of writing based around this. Towards the end of the week, the Seals were tasked with examining artefacts to uncover more about life in the Bronze Age. We have some excellent archaeologists amongst us!
Children have been given some Maths homework today which related to the learning we have been doing in school. The task has been explained in class, but if you have any questions about this, please do get in touch. This piece of homework is due on Friday 3rd December. Children should practice their spellings and times tables and read at home alongside this.
