We have had a lovely week in Seals class. Today we celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee, which was a wonderful way to end a busy half-term! Our week has involved kidnappers, time and teeth!
This week, the children have completed their hot write. They have written, edited and published their adventure stories. Their descriptive language and use of ‘show not tell’ for their characters’ emotions blew us away and they should be super proud of the work they have all produced!
In Maths this week, we have continued to work on time. This has included using a 24-hour clock, converting minutes, seconds and hours and problem-solving using time. Today, we completed a Maths mystery game with a royal theme! We will continue to learn about time after the half term.
This week, we have been learning about teeth! At the beginning of the week, we learnt about the different types of teeth and their functions. We created models of the human teeth using clay and added labels and a glossary to show what we had learnt. Yesterday, we discussed plaque and the importance of keeping our teeth clean and healthy. The children used a disclosing tablet to assess how well they are brushing their teeth. The children had so much fun during this lesson and will hopefully be much better at brushing their teeth now!
Over the half term we are asking children to practice their times tables in preparation for the MTC in June (it will be here before we know it!), Some children have taken sheets home to use, whereas others have opted to practice their tables using online games/platforms. Children should practice their spellings and read at home alongside this.

Have a fantastic half-term break!
