WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

Week beginning 28.02.23

Our Learning

We have had a short yet crazy week of learning in Seals! It has involved diaries, fractions and new vocabulary!

English –

Our English this week has related to our class book, Varjak Paw. After reading a chapter of the book, children were tasked with completing a thought map for Varjak. They had to consider his thoughts and feelings at different points in the chapter, thinking carefully about how this changed over time. Today, children have used their ideas to help them write a reflective diary entry from the perspective of Varjak Paw.

Maths –

This week we have started our fractions unit of work. It has involved understanding the whole, counting in fractions within 1 and beyond 1 and developing our problem solving skills!

World Book Day –

We had great fun on Thursday, celebrating World Book Day in school! The children’s outfits were incredible and they were very creative with their words! It was lovely to share our words and extend our vocabulary!

Homework –

Children have been given some Geography homework this week. The task has been explained in class, but if you have any questions about this, please do get in touch. This piece of homework is due on Monday 6th March 2023. Children should practice their spellings and times tables and read at home alongside this.
