We have had another lovely week in Seals class and I continued to be amazed by the positive behaviour and enthusiasm for learning!
This week in English we have focused on creative writing and even completed our first big writing task! Children focused on a page from our picture book 'Lights on Cotton Rock' and wrote their own descriptive sentences to describe what is happening in the images. The children worked extremely hard on this difficult task and used their imaginations to create some fantastic pieces of writing!
During Maths this week we have continued to look at rounding and also looked at negative numbers. This week marks the end of our number and place value unit of work and next week we will start our new unit which is addition and subtraction.
This week, we began to create our first piece of artwork for our 'Lights on Cotton Rock' topic and it is safe to say that the children loved getting involved in this! Children created a space themed background using white paint, toothbrushes and glitter and also made some water colour planets! Next week we will draw our very own astronaut and eventually, all of these elements will be combined to create a beautiful space themed piece of art! We cannot wait to show you the finished products!
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you all on Monday!
