Another busy yet incredible week in Seals class! Not only have we done lots of fantastic learning but we have also celebrated numerous special events. On Wednesday, children took part in a 2 minute silence for Remembrance Day and the respect shown by each and every child made the entire Year 4/5 team very proud. Today, children came to school dressed in pyjamas, spots or yellow clothing and I was amazed by their brilliant efforts to raise money for Children in Need. We have also worked extra hard to spread positivity and happiness today to celebrate World Kindness Day!
We have continued our unit of writing based on non-chronological reports this week, with a focus on researching and planning! Children chose a space-themed topic they would like to write about and then independently researched this using the internet and books. Using the information that they had gathered, children planned their very own non-chronological reports which they began to write today!
Many children in Seals have continued to research their chosen topic outside of school which is super impressive - Keep up the hard work!
This week, Year 4 have continued to learn about length and perimeter whilst Year 5 have been looking at factors, multiples and prime numbers. Both year groups are working extremely hard and pushing themselves to answer problem-solving questions - Well done!
Seals class have been lucky enough to have two special PE lessons this week! On Wednesday Premier Sport were in school conducting fitness assessments and on Thursday we took part in an Archery competition. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Archery in Seals class, particularly amongst the Year 4's! It was lovely to see the children enjoy and engage with both sessions.
Have a lovely weekend and take care,
