The Hedgehogs have been working brilliantly throughout this week. We've had a lot of brilliant discussions this week in all areas of our learning.
In Maths this week, we have been working on number bonds this week. We have been looking at number bonds to 20 by using our knowledge of number bonds to 10. This is quite a challenging concept, but the Hedgehogs have risen to the challenge and have done brilliantly. Next week, we will be looking at subtracting numbers to 20.
In English this week, we have been continuing our work on the story of 'Dinosaurs and All That Rubbish'. We have continued to learn the story by sequencing the story and boxing the story up into sections. We then innovated parts of the story by using the class' ideas to change the story. We then have used that innovate to produce a piece of shared writing - writing as a group and using ideas from other children. We have had some fantastic pieces of writing this week. Next week, we will be writing our own stories based off the story of 'Dinosaurs and All That Rubbish'.
In Topic this week, we have been continuing our adventure across the globe. This week, we have started to look specifically at the continent of Australia. We have used compass directions to plan a trip from the UK to Australia. We then looked at a climate map of Australia and looked at the different areas of Australia - looking at deserts, tropical area, grassland and temperate areas. We finally looked at the David Attenborough documentary "Seven World, One Planet". We looked at the animals that live in Australia. Next week, we will be looking more indepth into the animals of Australia.
What a great week Hedgehogs, well done!
