This week in Maths, we have been continuing our learning on multiplication and division. We have been thinking about square and cube numbers. We have also been using our reasoning skills to explain how to multiply by 10, 100 and 1000. We are very good at explaining what happens to the numbers verbally but we need to work on writing this down.
In English we have been looking at including connecting adverbs/adverbials to build cohesion within our paragraphs. We have also looked at using dashes to indicate parenthesis. Alongside this, we have thought about when we might want to choose to include commas, brackets or dashes to indicate the parenthesis within our writing. We are now seeing if we can apply all of these elements into our own writing by writing a diary entry.
In topic we have thought about some of the advantages and disadvantages of friction. We had some very interesting discussions about this and it was good to see how we are starting to really connect together all of the links in our learning.
Due to it being anti-bullying week this week, we have also been talking about anti-bullying and we have created some brilliant posters. These contain little changes that we would like to make which fits in well with the theme of this year - change starts with us.
