Wow what an amazing term we have had! The Hedgehogs are fully entitled to a well deserved break and we hope they have a lovely Christmas break.
In our final week of the Autumn term, the children have been working hard in their maths learning. The children have been learning about ordering numbers between 10-20 and comparing numbers using the symbols <, > and =.
In our English, we have made it a little bit 'Christmassy' and we have been looking at the John Lewis advert with Edgar the dragon. The children have been sequencing the story of Edgar the dragon and we have been using our 'thinking hats' to think carefully about the advert. We have been thinking about questions such as "How do you think the girl and Edgar became friends?", "Why are people upset with Edgar?", "How do we feel about Edgar?". The children have loved learning about Edgar and getting into the Christmas spirit.
We also had our Christmas Party on Tuesday! We played many games such as Pass the Parcel, Stations, Splat, Musical statues. The children loved it, but what they loved more was meeting Santa, who gave each child a book. What an exciting day! Thank you to all the parents that have provided food and drinks for the party.
We also had our Christmas Service at St Wystan's Church. The children performed their song beautifully and were so well behaved throughout all the service. Thank you to parent volunteers who walked with us.
A brilliant year so far Hedgehogs. Both Mrs Wain and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas break and a Happy New Year.
Mr Armishaw & Mrs Wain.
