After two successful productions of 'The Inn-Spectors', the KS1 team would like to send a special thank you to all the parents who have helped with costumes, helping the children learn their lines, and who came to see the production. We are immensely proud of all the children and their hard work has definitely paid off.
The children have been continuing to work hard in their maths. We have been practising our numbers from 11-20 and looked at what a 'unit' is, by looking at the tens and the ones column. We have used base ten to help us make numbers up to 20.
In English, the children have been fascinated by the life of Queen Victoria and we have learnt about organising her life together. We looked at her childhood, we looked at the best parts of her life, and we looked at the sad parts of her life. We then talked about how we can write sentences about her life using the conjunction 'and'.
We had a really good time at the Christmas party! The Hedgehogs were really well behaved when Santa came to pay them a special visit and each child got a lovely present. We played lots of games and had a lot of fun. Thank you to parents who provided snacks and food for our party.
Finally, we had our Topic Project afternoon. We had some fantastic castles and shields, and some lovely art work. I can tell a lot of effort has been put into these projects and it is a pleasure to see.
Have a lovely Christmas break Hedgehogs.
