A fantastic third week Hedgehogs!
In Maths this week, we have been learning to count forwards and backwards to and from 10. We have thought about how to identify a missing number by seeing what numbers are located around the missing number. We then have had a go at reading the numbers from 1- 10 in numerals and words. Writing the words has been tricky, but the Hedgehogs have gave the task a really good go at remembering the rules for spelling the numbers.
In English this week, we have innovated the story of Elmer. We collectively decided on what we wanted to innovate about Elmer and we decided to innovate the character himself. We all had a chance to share ideas about how we could innovate the story and we voted on our favourite idea. We voted that Elmer the elephant becomes Elmer the Hammerhead Shark. The only difference... the shark is stripy! All the other components of the story stayed the same. We loved sharing and creating ideas. Next week we will create our own stories based on the story of Elmer.
In Topic this week, we looked at what life was like in Victorian times, comparing the differences and similarities of Victorian life to today's school life. We decided that living in today's time was much easier and much more enjoyable! We also did not like the fact that naughty children got the dunce hat and sometimes even the cane.
What a great week Hedgehogs, well done!
