We hope you have had a lovely half term and well rested break.
The Hedgehogs have worked really hard in their learning this week.
In Maths, the Hedgehogs have been consolidating their learning on addition but we have now moved onto subtraction and using the subtraction symbol. We started by looking at crossing objects off and then gradually moved to writing subtraction sentences. Next week, we will be finding the difference between two numbers and comparing number sentences using <, > and =.
In English, the Hedgehogs have been continuing their work on The Wonder. We have looked at innovating the story by using the children's ideas and changing the boy's dreams. Next week, we will be creating our own imaginative stories.
To help with our understanding of the book, the Hedgehogs and the Owls had a special treat! Paul Brown came in to our school to deliver a creative and inspiring activity in relation to the book, The Wonder. It was a great activity and photos and information can be found on the "7th November Magical Mayhem" page on the Hedgehogs website.
Parents evening letters went out on the 8th November. Please return them to myself or Mrs Wain so we can start to return the times to you. Please circle the date and time that you would like and whether your child has a sibling. We will do our best to allocate a time.
What a brilliant week Hedgehogs!
