Thank you for attending our meeting on Thursday after school. It was great to see you and let you know what we will be learning about this year and answer any questions you had. If you were unable to attend the information that was shared is on our class page. Please pop in if you require any additional information.
The Badgers have had a successful week this week. We have continued with our work on place value in maths. The children are fluent in meeting the place value objectives, however we have had to spend a little longer using our problem solving and reasoning skills, which is why the homework focusses on this skill.
We have also continued to think of ways we can make our writing interesting by using different techniques- you may have heard your child talk about ‘A carp pie.’ This is an acronym for different techniques- hopefully your child will be able to tell you what each letter stands for!
The deputy head teacher from The William Allitt School came to speak to the children about their school, she also brought our 2019 Y6 leavers with her. It was lovely to hear some of their stories and see how they have settled in. You should have received a letter about their open evening next Tuesday.
We are also very lucky as we have a visitor every Wednesday afternoon from Nuffield Health to deliver 6 sessions based on a programme for young children - ‘SWAP’ Schools Wellbeing Activity Programme. Please see the meet the teachers powerpoint for further information if you were unable to attend the meeting. This is a great opportunity that we simply could not let pass!
Finally, a great end to the week- our first ever Repton Primary Fun Run. Well done to everyone for taking part and especially those that collected sponsorship money. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Have a well -earned rest this weekend.
