This week we have started our English work by reading a text called ‘Alien Landing’. We have looked carefully at the author’s choice of verbs and the impact that this has on the reader. We have also used a double page spread to plan a piece of descriptive writing based on a forest.
In our reading sessions, we have continued with our class book, this week we have looked at the link between what characters say, what they do and how this is narrated throughout a chapter.
In Maths, we have worked on percentages, we started with identifying decimal and fractions equivalents. Then we ordered these and have also found percentages of amounts to finish the week. We will be finishing these lessons at the beginning of next week and then moving onto algebra!
The children watched Stan and Ollie on Monday afternoon to kick off our new topic. The children all seemed to enjoy this and gave them an insight into entertainment in the 20th century.
The CGP guides that you have ordered will also be sent home with your child on Friday.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Pushkarich & Mrs Eaton.
