Our first full week!
The Badgers have worked extremely hard and some children have really shown a great attitude towards their learning. They seem to be settling into year 6 quickly. We have chosen our school council representatives and they have had their first school council meeting. Well done to everybody that prepared a speech for the elections, it was very difficult to choose. We also have our class ambassadors for the first half term, again voted for by the children.
Alongside all of this voting we have started our English and Maths topics- we are focussing on place value in maths, this will continue into next week too. For our English work, we have watched a clip ‘Lighthouse’ and the children have written a short story to accompany this. They have also learnt a good example of this story so that they can use this when it comes to writing their own at the end of the unit.
Our class novel this term is ‘The Nowhere Emporium’ Mrs Eaton and myself read this over the school holidays and loved it! The children seem to be hooked too!
We look forward to seeing you at our ‘Meet the Teachers Evening’ on Thursday 19th September at 3:30. Please come into the classroom at the end of the day. We will share with you expectations of year 6 and what your child will be learning this year.
Have a great weekend
Mrs Pushkarich and Mrs Eaton.
