WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

19.04.24

Welcome back, I hope you all had a lovely break over Easter!

This week we jumped straight back into our work and in English, we completed our persuasive letter about stopping whaling. The children were encouraged to use features such as rhetorical questions and emotive language. I was so impressed with the letters that they wrote! They had some really great ideas about how to stop whaling in Iceland!

In Maths, we have now completed our work on fractions and Year 4 children will be learning about decimals from next week. Year 3 children will be moving onto our Measurement unit, where they will be learning about mass, capacity and volume.

We have now started our first science topic of the summer term which is Animals and Humans. We began this unit by looking at the variety of teeth that humans have and what they are used for.  Next week we will look at how we can keep our teeth clean and what effect not keeping them clean can have on them.

Reminders:

-Next week we will be cleaning our teeth in our science lesson on Monday and using disclosing tablets! Please remember to bring your toothbrush and toothpaste on Monday.

-We will also be building weather station models in our Computing lesson next week. Please bring in anything that you can that your group may need to create this from home (e.g. kitchen roll tubes, cereal boxes, pop bottles). We will be doing this on Wednesday/Thursday.

Have a lovely weekend!
