WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

13.10.23

This week in English, we have been learning how to make notes and researching the life of the boxer Nicola Adams. The children have needed to pick out important parts of the text such as dates and key events in her life and put them in chronological order. Next week we will start to write biographies from our notes.

In maths, we have been adding and subtracting ones and tens crossing boundaries and regrouping. We have used lots of different methods to develop mental calculations such as using number lines, physical equipment and diagrams. We will be doing some addition consolidation work next week.

In topic work, we have learned about the original pagan beliefs of the Anglo-Saxons and their conversion to Christianity. Next week we will be learning about art and finding out about the Staffordshire Hoard. Some of the Hoard is on display at Tamworth Castle so the children will see the actual artefacts on our visit.

We look forward to meeting you at Parents’ Evening next week where we will be letting you know how your child has settled into their new year.
