Our Learning
We have had another busy week in Seals class. It has involved egg shells, angles and debates!
English –
This week, we have started our new unit of work, discussion texts. To kickstart the week, we had a class debate about various different topics including ‘should children have homework?’ and ‘should classroom pets be allowed?’. We then spent the rest of the week familiarising ourselves with our model text and analysing features of a discussion text.
Maths –
In Maths this week we have been learning about angles. It has involved understanding angles as turns, identifying angles and comparing and ordering angles. Today we recapped 2D shapes, ready to start our shape unit of work next week.
Science –
In Science this week we have been investigating the effect that foods and drinks can have on your teeth. We planned and set up an egg shell experiment to see how different liquids can cause tooth decay. We have been observing the egg shells each day and recorded our results. Today, we analysed our findings and wrote an overall conclusion for our experiment.
Homework –
Children have been given a piece of English homework to complete which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. This piece of homework is due on Monday 26th June 2023. Children have been asked to practice their spellings and times tables and read at home alongside this.
