Our Learning
It has been yet another busy week in Seals class. It has involved gorilla escapes, role play and symbols!
English –
This week, the children completed their hot writes. They have each written a newspaper report about an event of their choice. They have worked hard to follow the structure of a newspaper report and include features from our writing toolkit, and the end results are brilliant. Their final pieces of work are now proudly displayed on our writing wall in the classroom!
Maths -
It has been a long road but we have now come to the end of our fractions unit! This week it has involved finding the whole, finding a fraction of an amount and solving a variety of problems including fractions. We have now moved on to converting units of measure.
History -
This week, we have learnt about ancient Greek jobs. Our first lesson included analysing artefacts to identify different jobs, and completing a crossword by matching a job title to its description. In our second lesson, the children researched a selection of jobs in greater detail. Using the facts that they had researched, the children produced freeze frames and created word clouds to showcase their ancient Greek job!
Homework –
Children have been given a piece of Maths and English homework this week which relates to the learning we have been doing in school. The task has been explained in class, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. The best posters will be displayed around school and the classroom!
Homework is due in school on Monday 27th November.
